When A Fellow Apostate Goes Insane, What Can We Do To Help?
by RottenRiley ini don't know how to handle the situation with a fellow apostate who has lost their mind due to this evil cult.
this guy is texting many of the elders under alias of six different cell-phones no less than twenty times a day.. .
we had to change the locks at the kingdom hall because he was still stalking and prowling around the hall after advertsing he had left the kingdom hall and we were all no less than mind-dead zombies sucking out of the life of thinking individuals.

Did any bethelites here see first hand books of magic and witchcraft in their library?
by EndofMysteries inanother thread made me remember hearing rumors of books of witchcraft and such found in if not the main library a restricted library at bethel, for research purposes.
i wonder if anyone here had seen those first hand and if so, what exactly were the names of the books?

My personal library is loaded with books on the occult, demonism, magic, magick, etc.
But I think you meant the BETHEL libraries, right?

BOTR, you have an advantage that most of us here don't have. You are extraordinarily well educated in the law.
Would you be willing to share some constructive ideas with people looking for help on this subject, or is this all a lost cause as far as you are concerned?
I have NO legal education, but I believe the rights outlined in the Constitution applies to individual human citizens, and through individuals to the organizations individuals form. Today the religious corporate entity is granted rights that no individual enjoys. But I am just a fool.
You can learn who Doc Bob is if you wish to. Links to his posts have been cited here. Tell Ghandi I said "Hi".

I don't love my family
by noontide inhow can i love people that dont really know me?
how can i love people i dont really know?.
thats not love.

Noontide said, "... the first thing the said was, “Man, you grew up in a cult.” Funny how I never saw that in my 25 years-plus in the religion."
You need to cut yourself a bit of slack. You had no prior experience on which to base any judgement. You are forgiven for being duped.
We come into this world as tabla rasa, and we have no choice but to accept that what we are told about the nature of reality is THE TRUTH™. It is only after our rational skills are built that we can shatter the cheap plastic paradigm we've been handed.
I don't love my parents either. One was a loser and the other was an abused ignorant religious fanatic who saw her kids as a way for her to gain praise. It's not MY job to make their lives better. That was THEIR job, and they failed.

Well my JW elder dad has lost his job...
by BU2B inas a little background, my dad became a jw in 1980 i think, went to bethel, married my mom in 86' went back for another year and then i came along... he worked in the auto repair shop at bethel while he was there, and upon leaving, continued working in this field.
my whole life they have been the type of jw parents that tell you how you will never get to high school, never graduate it, never get married in this system, never have children in this system etc.. i say this to illustrate the end is just around the corner attitude they have always had, probably because they fully bought/buy into the hype at the conventions/wt articles.
my father has no plan in place for retirement, and he is physically slowing down doing such hard laborious work.

Your Dad now has a golden opportunity to pioneer during the closing days of this system of things.
Long, long ago (1960s, 1970s) there was a FINE article in the AWAKE! about how God's servants could support themselves by growing CUCUMBERS.
I'll bet that advice is as good today as it was when the ink was still wet!
As a grateful child, you can gift your parents with a REALLY GOOD hoe.

Any problems with AAWA.CO
by BackSlider ini'm just wondering if there are things i should worry about when it comes to aawa.co?.
they seem to have good objectives and goals.
i signed their petition on the change.org site regarding the watchtower's abuse techniques.. just wondering.

I agree with much of what BOTR has said. My opinion is that AAWA was started with good intentions but fumbled the ball early on. An immature and presumptuous clown merrily stepped into the role of being the "public face" of AAWA. (Reminds me of Joe Rutherford in some ways.) Fortunately the blunders of Bozo were SO large it wasn't long before he was removed from power. I made the mistake of judging all of AAWA by the actions of one clown.
I am not interested in being a part of any organized "resistance." I've done my thing just fine with little help. JunkYardDog has been a good friend and ally. Surprised? Sometimes people are not what others think they are.
My hope is that AAWA will, in time, become what they want to be. I wish them success at putting a thumb in Jehovah's eye. It is satisfying to do so.

I didn't know Steve Imhof, but from the testimony of his friends, he was a good guy. My condolences to his family and friends.
